Pre-orders and Backorders

Newegg occasionally offers pre-orders and backorders so you can reserve an item before it's ready to ship. Here's how each one works.

How Pre-Orders Work

Look for the Pre-Order button. On the product page, you'll see a Pre-Order button where Add to Cart normally appears, along with the item's release date.

No charge until it ships. Your payment method isn't charged until your pre-order is in stock and ready to ship.

Ships on the release date. Pre-orders usually ship on the listed release date, as long as inventory is available.

Multiple pre-orders? If you have more than one pre-order item in the same order, they'll ship separately based on each item's individual release date.

How Backorders Work

Look for the Backorder button. On eligible product pages, a Backorder button will appear where the Add to Cart button normally appears, along with the item's estimated restock date.

No charge until the item ships. Your payment method will not be charged until the backordered item is in stock and ready to ship.

Ships on the restock date. Backorders usually ship on the listed restock date, as long as inventory is available.

Multiple backorders? If you have more than one backordered item in the same order, each item will ship separately based on its individual availability date.
