Order Verification

Order verification (also known as address verification) is one of the ways we prevent online fraud and protect you from anyone using your credit card without your knowledge. Our verification team contacts your card-issuing bank to confirm that the billing name, billing address, and phone number on your order match what your bank has on file for you.

Good to know: If we need more information, or if anything doesn’t match, we’ll contact you by email or phone. All orders are subject to verification, and if your order can’t be verified within 3 business days, it will be canceled automatically.

How do I resubmit my order for verification?

If you need to correct your address or resubmit your order, please do the following:

1. Log in to your Newegg account.

2. Find your order under the Recent Order Status section.

3. Select the order with the status “On Hold – Updated Information Required.”

4. Update the billing information on the order to match what you have on file with your credit card issuer.

5. Click Submit.

What is a phone confirmation?

Phone confirmation is part of our order verification process. It requires us to speak with you directly at your billing phone number, and is only required when we need to confirm certain information for your order to be processed. Phone confirmations are done primarily to protect you — and identity theft victims — from debit or credit card fraud.

If you’re not available, we’ll email you or leave a message asking you to call us back as soon as you can.
