Where it’s available

HomeTech Protect is currently available to customers in the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii.

Not available in: Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

What’s covered

Eligible devices

HomeTech Protect covers a wide range of electronics and smart home products:

Computers & accessories: laptops, desktops, CPUs, motherboards, monitors, SSDs, video cards, and more

Gaming devices: consoles, controllers, VR headsets, and accessories

Smart home devices: cameras, thermostats, doorbells, smoke detectors, and more

Audio/video equipment: headphones, Bluetooth speakers, TVs, and home theater systems

Wearables & gadgets: smartwatches, fitness bands, tablets, and streaming devices

Eligibility: Devices must have been purchased within the last 3 years from any retailer. For the latest eligible-device list, visit protect.likewize.com/newegg/hometech.

Protection details

What’s covered
  • Mechanical or electrical malfunctions (after the manufacturer’s warranty expires)
  • Accidental damage, including liquid damage
What’s not covered
  • Normal wear and tear (paint peeling, screen scratches)
  • Pre-existing flaws (issues inherent to the model)
  • Cosmetic damage that doesn’t impede function
  • Extreme circumstances: abuse, misuse, intentional acts, natural disasters, acts of terrorism, war, fire, or flooding

Filing a claim

How to file

File a claim online at protect.likewize.com/newegg/hometech.

You may file a claim 30 days after enrollment.

Claims must be submitted within 60 days of the incident.

You’ll have 30 days to provide all required documentation (such as proof of purchase).

A non-refundable deductible applies to each approved claim.

Claim limits

$2,500
per approved claim
$6,000
total coverage per year

How your claim is fulfilled

Depending on your device and location, Likewize may:

Provide a prepaid label for mail-in repair

Offer in-home repair (televisions only)

Issue a digital gift card reimbursement if the item can’t be repaired

Good to know: Repairs include a 90-day warranty. Turnaround times vary based on the repair type and your location.

Deductibles vary depending on the device type and the damage. A few examples:

Cancellation

How to cancel

You can cancel anytime from your Newegg account:

1. Sign in to your account at Newegg.com.

2. Go to My Account → Order History → Subscription Orders.

3. Click Cancel next to Likewize HomeTech Protect.
