Refurbished Product Standards Policy

  • Data Removal and System Reset
All previous data has been securely erased, and the item has been reset to its original system configuration. This ensures that all personal information, user-installed content, and custom settings have been removed.
  • Professional Cleaning
The product has been professionally cleaned, both internally and externally, to eliminate dust, dirt, and debris. This step helps ensure a presentable appearance and reliable performance.
  • Component Inspection
Key components have been inspected for signs of damage, excessive wear, or malfunction. Any parts that did not meet functional standards have been repaired or replaced as needed.
  • Comprehensive Testing and Quality Review
Each item has undergone full diagnostic testing to verify that all standard features and functions perform as intended. This includes system checks, component performance verification, and a final quality assurance review to confirm that the product meets refurbishment standards prior to sale.
  • Return Policy
All refurbished items are backed a return policy, clearly outlined in the product listing.

Refurbished items are items that were returned, tested, and restored to manufacturer specifications. Here are some examples:

  • Items returned due to defect and restored to manufacturer specifications.
  • Items returned for reasons other than defect.
  • Items that were never used, but the factory seal was opened.
  • Items returned because their box was damaged in shipping.
  • Items used in field tests, sales displays or demonstrations.

Refurbished items may list a grade, along with the condition of the product (scratch and dent, etc.) provided by the refurbishing vendor. However, sometimes just the grade is listed, with no details about the condition.

  • A grade refers to units that are in “Like New” condition. Minimal to no scuffs to the body of the unit. No scratches, dents or other cosmetic damages to the item.
  • B grade refers to units that may have dents, chips, or scuffs on the body. The keyboard may be shiny or worn down and hairline scratches or scuffs may be on the screen.
  • C grade refers to units that may have dents, cracks, chips, or scuffs on the body. The keyboard may be shiny or worn down and there may be scratches or dark spots on the LCD screen.
Note: In general, any warranty support outside of the Newegg return policy is provided by the vendor that refurbished the item and not the manufacturer. If you need to contact the vendor, chat with us, and we’ll help you get in touch.
