Through the Newegg EggXpert Review Program, Newegg invites its best reviewers, known as EggXperts, to post opinions about new and pre-release products to help their fellow customers make informed buying decisions. Newegg provides EggXperts with free products that have been submitted to the program by participating vendors. EggXperts review the products they receive and post their reviews in the EggXpert Review Program. These reviews are the independent opinions of the EggXperts. The vendors supplying products for review cannot influence, modify or edit the reviews. Newegg does not modify or edit these reviews, as long as they comply with our posting guidelines.
How can I join the program?
The Newegg EggXpert Review Program is by invitation only. EggXperts are chosen based on several criteria, but primarily on the helpfulness of their reviews and by their demonstrated interest in the types of products that are featured in the program.
Where does Newegg get the products?
Products are provided by manufacturers or any vendor participating in the program.
Do EggXperts have to write only positive reviews?
No. We want honest opinions about the products – good or bad.
Are EggXperts paid for writing reviews or pressured to write favorable reviews?
No. EggXperts are not paid to participate in the program and write reviews. They do get to keep the products they review as we want them to continue to use the products and submit review updates whenever appropriate.
If an EggXpert writes a negative review, will it impact his or her reviewer ranking?
No. Writing a negative review will not impact an EggXpert’s reviewer ranking. Customers tend to value substantive, informative, detailed and objective reviews, regardless of whether the review is positive, negative, or neutral.
Do EggXperts receive products before they are released?
Yes – in some cases. Some participating vendors will enroll pre-release products for EggXperts to review prior to product launch.
Can the participating vendors contact or otherwise influence EggXperts?
No. All products are submitted by vendors to Newegg, and distributed by Newegg to the EggXperts for review. Vendors have no contact with the EggXperts, and have no influence over which EggXperts will review their products.
